As an owner and automotive enthusiast my ultimate aim for Hand Held Halo Datalogger™ is to produce the most user-friendly, cost effective and yet powerful datalogging solutions for all vehicles available on any format. To this end, an obvious next stage development was to improve our Dashboard feature. The v2.x Dashboard provides an easy and intuitive way to display key sensor values in a large numeric display while storing Peak Max/Min values. It was also designed to be in-car PC friendly with a resizeable grid in which to display the values.
With the new v3.x Skinnable Dashboard (screenshot below) we have taken the whole concept to another level providing you with large easy to read Dials and LED displays. Both audible and visual alarms can be defined by the user and the entire appearance of the Dash can be changed using custom made skins. In short, we have now added the power and flexibility of user definable dash mounted gauges in a program that still only costs £29.99! It also toggles full screen to provide a seamless full colour experience which will be particularly useful when displayed using In-Car PC's with Dash/Visor Mounted LCD's!
The basic Default Dashboard as shown below was designed by our good friend Paul Adams of Seven Words (www.sevenwords.co.uk) with tweaks by both Paul Barnard (conspiracy_boy) and myself (thehand).
By our own admission neither Paul.B or myself are the most artistic of people and for that reason we are confident someone could do better! We will therefore be running a Competition, which will hopefully appeal to the artist in you, to produce another Skin to ship with the first release of v3.x
I will provide more details over the next few days but the dials/sliders and design layout below must be used as the basic template. You can change the dials and sliders but for the purpose of the competition they must be geometrically identical in both size and position. So, for example, you can change the Aluminum to Wood or Black Marble and the dials to Neon Blue!

Where permissable within the guidelines of the forum or website in question please feel free to advertise this competition to members of your Club or Organisation. All submitted Skins will be posted in a Pole on the HHHD Forum with the winning Skin to be included in the final v3.x releases of all Hand Held Halo Datalogger™ Products.
